On June 25th, 2021, famous singer Tyler the Creator dropped his 6th album, “Call Me If You Get Lost.” Little did anyone know, that album would grow to become the album of the year, and eventually make one of the best concerts for thousands of lucky fans.
“Call Me If You Get Lost” was an explosive hit with listeners everywhere. The rap album had a new sound, which Tyler is known for. He mixes his energetic sound from his last album, “Igor,” with his rap flow and bars. The album was a huge hit, with Rolling Stone calling it the 4th best album of the year.
A few weeks following the album’s release, Tyler announced his 2022 Call Me If You Get Lost tour, with Kali Uchis, Vince Staples, and Teezo Touchdown opening in every concert. He was touring huge cities such as New York, Chicago, and Columbus. Tickets sold out in minutes, and the lucky ticket buyers had to wait half a year for their favorite artists to start touring. I was lucky to get tickets and joined the 7-month wait for the best concert I could dream of.
7 months later, I got home at 2:30 AM from the best concert of my life. For a timeline, my friends and I arrived at the Schottenstein Center at 3 PM, almost 5 hours early to the event, in order to get the best spots on the floor. We were allowed to go onto the floor at 6:00 and waited until 7:30 PM for the first performance to begin. 4 hours later, we head for the car and can’t stop talking about how we had just seen the best concert of our lives.
I decided to interview one of my friends who went, Becca. She helped answer some of my questions;
S - How did the concert go?
B - It was the best concert ever. The first two guys, Teezo Touchdown and Vince Staples, did amazing and had about 45 minutes to themselves. Later, Kali Uchis came out and sang for an hour while showing herself out to the sold-out stadium. Lastly, Tyler the Creator came out and performed all his hit songs for almost 2 hours. Everything was loud, energetic, and I couldn’t stop screaming.
S - Sounds like a blast. Who was your favorite?
B - Every singer did well, but my favorite was easily Tyler the Creator. He brought so much energy, and the whole stadium couldn’t stop screaming when he came on. Not only would he sing, but he would also make fun of people in the audience, such as a guy wearing sunglasses.
S - What was your favorite part?
B - Tyler went on a boat and went from one stage to the other, and he passed not even 10 feet away from us. I think him singing and pointing at us is a moment I’ll never forget.
S - Thank you.
Overall, the Call Me If You Get Lost tour is the best concert I’ll ever go to. I have loved all 4 artists for a long time, and it was absolutely amazing watching them live. Becca helped show that it was truly an amazing experience, and I’ll never forget how I spent 5 hours on the best concert of my life.
